Townies stars Molly Ringwald as Carrie. Carrie and her friends have lived in the same small town all their lives. Somehow they never seem to be able to leave.

In Townies we find Molly Ringwald starring as Carrie. Carrie was born and raised in a small New England fishing town and spends much of her time planning to move on.

Carrie shares hopes and dreams and crises with her friends Shannon and Denise, played by Jenna Elfman (from Dharma and Greg) and Lauren Graham. The three friends work in a small restaurant and spend lots of time talking about your average young women issues.

Things aren't easy in a small town either. The women have spent all their lives in the same town. They know everybody and have dated every guy worth dating. When Shannon finds herself hitting on a guy she already went out with, she complains that "I'm on my second lap."

Molly Ringwald was a big star in some classic teen movies of the '80's. The Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles and Pretty in Pink.
