In the tradition of Agatha Christie, "Murder Call" is a stylish, Australian "whodunnit" police drama series, on M-Net every Saturday at 19:00.

Full of intrigue, danger, and humanity, the show is charged with atmosphere and is set to ignite the dormant super sleuths in local audiences nationwide.

Each mesmerising episode focuses on a bizarre homicide. Armchair detectives will enjoy following the show's detectives as they pick their way through a feast of suspects, alibis, clues, and red herrings to find the hidden truth.

The two lead characters are Steve Hayden (Peter Mochrie) and Tessa Vance (Lucy Bell), dedicated partners who must confront the many faces of evil daily.

Tessa and Steve are the elite faces of homicide. She is young and brilliant, he is logical. She is instinctive, he goes by the book. She's complicated, he's down to earth. Together this powerful partnership must confront and overcome the intrigue, fear and shattered lives which murder leaves in its wake.

To solve each case Tessa and Steve draw heavily on the skills of brilliant forensic pathologist Dr. lmogen "Tootsie" Soames (Glenda Linscott), eccentric forensic expert Detective Senior Sergeant Lance Fisk (Geoff Morrell), and crime scene photographer Constable Dee Suzeraine (Jennifer Kent). Commanding the squad is Detective Inspector Malcolm Thorne (Gary Day), a disciplined and ambitious boss with formidable persuasive capabilities.

These tough professionals share the highs and lows of the job of being law enforcement officers. They are compassionate people with a collective moral commitment to the pursuit of justice. Humour aids their survival, providing the audience with doses of witty repartee.

The show is adapted from the works of internationally acclaimed suspense writer, Jennifer Rowe, whose compelling storylines are superbly brought to life by an outstanding team of Australian writers, directors, and actors.
