Starring in the highly acclaimed drama series "Anyday Now," are Annie Potts and Lorraine Toussaint as two women who have been friends since childhood in the sixties where black consciousness was at it's peak.
This series explores the interracial relationship between Mary Elizabeth, who is white, and Rene, who is African-American. Mary Elizabeth and Rene's friendship began in the sixties in the heart of the Deep South. This strong friendship was put to test resulting in a break-up between the two.
Rene returns years later to Birmingham, a successful lawyer and their friendship resumes. Mary Elizabeth, not a career woman, married her childhood sweetheart and raised a family. The contrast between the two lead characters makes this dynamic series a journey in inter-personal relationships and explores the tremendous value on solid friendships.
The cast includes a strong female front of two great ladies who are no strangers to television. Not forgetting the young and fresh talent of Mae Middleton, who stars as the young Mary Elizabeth (Annie Potts) and Sheri Perry who stars as young Rene (Lorraine Toussaint) who complete the fabulous female cast of the series.
