It was Jason Hartman?s moment of glory on Wednesday, although it was not quite the fan-fare one may have expected for a pop Idol.

The Durban singer was presented with his prizes at a victory celebration in Fourways although there were less than 100 fans present.

Hartman was announced runner up at the big televised final but after a recount due to an SMS voting botch up, he and Sasha-Lee Davids from Atlantis in Cape Town were later announced joint winners.

Hartman says he is satisfied.

"I am so grateful to receive these prizes. For me whether I won it on a Sunday or whether I won today [Wednesday] it does not matter to me.

"The fact that I have won it and that they have acknowledged this and the country has got me this far is more of a prize that I could have ever wished for," he said.
