Grab your backstabbing daggers 'Survivor' lovers! — you're going to need them for this news.

First up: The Amazing Race 12 finishes on SABC3 this Monday (23 November) and won't be replaced with the next season of Survivor the following week, as is custom.

Instead a dating, reality show called 'Momma's Boys' takes over.

Created by American Idol host Ryan Seacrest, the show has 7 episodes and is a once-off series: NBC (the US network who make it ) didn't order a second season.

Once this finishes, Survivor still doesn't return. Instead yet another, different reality show called 'Make Me A Supermodel' starts and runs until April 2010 — finishing round about 12 April.

The series is based on the UK version of the show and centres round a model search, very similar to that of 'America's Next Top Model'.

The reason for the 'Survivor' delay: apparently negotiations are still happening for the next season and the contract hasn't been signed and sealed yet. The season coming up is Season 16: Micronesia — Fans vs. Favourites, a showdown between favourite players from previous seasons and fans of the show.

If the contract gets finalised before the start of 'Make Me A Supermodel' then 'Survivor' will start instead, but otherwise it's delayed until April.

Which will put us four seasons (almost two years to the day) behind the rest of the world.
