Bond - Unbelievably bad!
");
document.write("The seemingly endless and tedious adverts and trailers turned out to be the highlight of our trip to the cinema last night.
The new Bond movie seems to miss out on all the features that have made the series so popular for so many years. There is no humour to paste over the cracks in a very dodgy storyline, very little glamour, no romance, a disappointing musical score, no gadgets, no Q, and the action scenes are almost unwatchable.
Starting with the initial car chase the scenes are cut so short, and the action so hectic, that it is almost impossible to decipher what is happening. I did manage to note that the Italian Police Landrover managed to catch up with the hard-driven Aston and pursuing Alfa, which must have been the result of some great driving skills taught at the Police academy! As a self-confessed car buff even I wasn't sure which car eventually went over the cliff. Unfortunately it wasn't Bond.
From there on it is one fight or chase after another - rooftops, boats, cars, and planes - all of them filmed in a way that makes you think you have pressed the fast forward on the remote, as each disjointed scene leaves you guessing what is actually going on.
And the slower bits in between? Well there aren't very many, and apart from Judi Dench they aren't very memorable.
The film ends with a wimper, Bond doesn't even ride off into the sunset with the girl.
If you want to watch a Bond movie hire one of the old ones.. Nick ");

I found the opening car chase scene one of the most exhilarating car sequences ever put to film...it had me reeling it was so fantastically done. I loved the short cuts that just intensified the moment for the viewers...I was, to use an old cliché, liberally hanging onto the edge of my seat. While I agree it's not the among the best of the Bonds and in terms of Casino Royale it could be perceived as a step backwards but its certainly better than anything Moore, Dalton or Brosnan put out. Simply put its a great night out at the movies. Stefarooh");
