Lights, colours and fish filled the city of Cape Town on Saturday (March 18, 2017) with the arrival of an annual tradition.
Costumed revellers, dancers and massive floats came parading down the streets of the Green Point Fan Walk, entertaining thousands of Capetonians who had gathered there to commemorate the 2017 Cape Town Carnival.
Fish, octopuses, jellyfish and various other sea creatures made appearances at the 8th vibrant event, as Carnival participants rose to the challenge to honour this year's theme... Amaza! Ocean Odyssey.
Some of this year's showstoppers included: floating jellyfish, a giant sea snail, dragons and of course the pièce de résistance… a stylish octopus float with manoeuvring tentacles.
Naturally, we were in attendance with a camera on hand to capture the majesty of the Carnival for those who could not make it.
