Just before season 7 of "The Walking Dead" arrives on screens, AMC has confirmed that the show will be back for an eighth season.
Due for release late 2017, Deadline reports that the 16-episode eighth season will most likely premiere around October time next year.
AMC also confirmed that "The Walking Dead" aftershow, "The Talking Dead," would also be back.
The highly-anticipated season 7 will debut on October 23, with viewers hoping to see which of the show's key characters was killed off by villain Negan at the end of season 6.
Fans of main character Rick Grimes, played by British actor Andrew Lincoln, will be relieved to known tha he at least has managed to survive, with a trailer released last week during New York Comic-Con confirming his return.
