Former Creed singer Scott Stapp has apologised for the behaviour that led to his arrest on Sunday on aggravated assault charges.

The singer, whose charge was reduced by a Florida judge to a misdeamenour on Monday, was arrested at his home in Palm Beach after his wife called police.

The singer, who led his former band through hits like ?Higher? and ?Open Arms?, reportedly through a bottle of orange juice at his wife, Jaclyn Neshiwat. Missing the head of the former Miss New York USA, the bottle smashed.

As the Orangina bottle wasn?t considered a deadly weapon in this incident, the charges against Stapp were reduced.

A tape of Neshiwatt?s call to 911 was released on Tuesday.

?He just threw a glass bottle at me,? the hysterical former beauty queen is heard saying.

?He just came home, he?s wasted ... he?s been out partying all night.?

The singer was on ?drugs and pot?, she said. ?There?s a lot of pot in the house.?

There were also ?five or 10? guns in the house, she told the dispatcher.

She called 911 again before police arrived on the scene.

?He?s hiding all the drugs,? said the woman who married Stapp in February last year. ?He?s still under the influence right now.?

The 33-year-old singer, who has a baby daughter with Nesheiwat, was released on Monday and will have to undergo random alcohol and drug tests.

Stapp addressed the situation in an email sent to radio DJ Drew Garabo.

?I am truly sorry and seek forgiveness from my wife. As she has done the same seeking forgiveness from me,? he wrote.

?We both know we were wrong in how we handled the argument and in some of the allegations that were made,? added Stapp.

?Now we are tryng to move forward as a family.?

Stapp claimed his wife wasn?t entirely truthful with police.

?Things were stated to the police in the heat of anger that were not completely accurate. Things have been said to the media and reported after the fact that are not accurate as well,? he explained.

?As in most cases like this, the next day everyone is sorry and wishes they didn't get the police involved and said what they did about their partner. We are no different.?

The singer, who has a history of substance abuse problems, also apologised to the police.

?We would also like to apologize to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Dept.for calling them to our home and taking them away from the very serious and dangerous job of protecting our community. Anyone that was effected negativly please forgive us as well??

Finally the singer, who released a solo album last year, asked for privacy.

?We would also like to ask that the media please allow our family to heal during this painfull time and remember we have children. So please take that into consideration and respect our privacy and let this go. I know you would want the same if the tables were turned.?
