The crazed fan who wanted to kidnap Justin Bieber intended to place a $2500 bounty to save each of the pop star's testicles.

Dana Martin - who is currently serving two unrelated life sentences in jail in New Mexico - plotted to kidnap Bieber, his bodyguard and two unrelated victims in order to castrate and strangle the 18-year-old singer.

Martin - who is obsessed with Bieber and was furious when the Baby hitmaker didn't respond to his letters - hired his then-Las Cruces prison inmate Mark Staake and his nephew Tanner Ruane to murder the Canadian star with a paisley tie - but only after they had removed his genitals with garden shears.

Martin had planned to strike while Bieber was performing at Madison Square Garden in New York last month, but confessed his plot to prison officials before it could be carried out.

The Sun newspaper has obtained the arrest warrant, which states: "Mr Martin stated he had attempted to solicit correspondence on numerous occasions and that Victim 3 [Justin] never returned in kind.

"This perceived slight made Mr Martin upset and, coupled with Mr Martin's perception of being a 'nobody' in prison, led him to begin plotting the kidnap and murder. Mr Martin stated he was seeking a measure of notoriety so that there would be people outside of prison who would know who he was."

The Boyfriend singer was spared after Martin - who has a Bieber tattoo on his leg - let slip his intentions to prison wardens. Police also coincidentally happened to stop accomplices Ruane and Staake where they were driving in Vermont on their way to commit the first two murders.

During a phone call between the accomplices, the court documents reveal that: "Mr Ruane stated he was going to do it and get 'five large for each one I get'. Mr Martin confirmed that Mr Ruane was going to get $2500 per testicle."

They reportedly expressed their "disappointment" that they couldn't go through with the murder plot. A newly-purchased pair of Fiskars Durasharp pruning shears were later discovered in Ruane's car.
