Modern Family star Eric Stonestreet has denied that there is any truth in rumours suggesting that he and Charlize Theron are an item.
Stonestreet jokingly told E!News that his fantasy girlfriend Halle Berry (who is currently engaged to Olivier Martinez) was really "hurt" by the reports by the press of his relationship with Theron.
"She was so cold to me this morning when she saw these rumours. It was just quiet - knife and fork on the plate. Halle and I weren't speaking at all. And I'm like, 'Halle, listen! It's just a rumour. It's not real!'" he told the celebrity television show.
Various news outlets had reported that Theron and Stonestreet, who were introduced earlier this year by a mutual friend, were dating.
Stonestreet, who plays a gay parent in the popular sitcom Modern Family, recently broke up with his girlfriend of three years, Katherine Tokarz.
The actor won an Emmy on Sunday for Outstanding Supporting Actor in A Comedy Series for his role in Modern Family.
