Lindsay Lohan has been banned from a Hollywood hotel – over an unpaid bill.

According to documents published by TMZ, the troubled actress racked up a bill of $46,350.04 – which she has yet to settle – during a stay at the upscale Chateau Marmont Hotel during June and July of this year while filming Liz & Dick.

According to the Daily Mail, the star made use of the mini-bar, ate at the hotel's restaurant and regularly ordered room service meals and cigarettes but despite "repeated" requests from management, has yet to settle her bill – forcing the manager to ban her from the premises.

In a letter to Lohan dated 31 July and obtained by TMZ, hotel general manager Philip Pavel wrote: "As you are aware from our previous correspondences starting on 8 July, you currently owe the hotel a grand total of $46,350.04 in charges for your stay starting on 30 May, 2012.

"As we have made repeated attempts to resolve this pressing matter over the last few weeks without any resolution, I regret to inform you that we will no longer be able to extend any further credit for you to remain in the hotel.

"Please have all of your belongings removed from Suite 33 by 12pm, Wednesday, 1 August 2012.

"Furthermore, until we get the matter of your outstanding debt paid, know that we will be unable to host you on property or in the restaurant," the letter read.

According to the Daily Mail, representatives for the hotel and for Lohan have yet to comment on the claims.

However, E! News reports that Lohan was under the impression that the Liz & Dick producers were going to pay for her hotel stay - and if they don't cough up, Lohan is apparently willing to settle the bill herself.

In recent years, Lohan has been in the spotlight more for her legal and personal woes than for her acting work – but the star has tried to get her career back on track this year with an appearance in Playboy, a cameo in Glee, a role as Elizabeth Taylor in television movie Liz & Dick and a role in the upcoming drama The Canyons.
