Adele is pregnant and could be tying the knot soon.

The Grammy-winning singer announced on Friday (29 June) that she was expecting her first child with her boyfriend of nearly one year, Simon Konecki, – and now sources claim that he could be popping the question soon.

A source told US Weekly: "He was planning to propose anyway!"

The Rolling in the Deep star is said to be four months along, and revealed the news of her pregnancy to fans on her website.

She wrote: "I'm delighted to announce that Simon and I are expecting our first child together.

"I wanted you to hear the news direct from me, obviously we're over the moon and very excited but please respect our privacy at this precious time. Yours always, Adele xx."

The insider revealed to the publication that 24-year-old Adele wants to be a mother and wife more than anything in the world, something she reiterated in an interview with Vogue earlier this year.

Discussing the future, Adele told the magazine: “So at least now I can have enough time to write a happy record. And be in love and be happy. And then I don’t know what I’ll do. Get married. Have some kids. Plant a nice vegetable patch.”

She added: "Come on! I'm wifey material! I'm great,"

“The good things: I am attentive. I will do anything for my man. I am a good cook. I’m funny. Always want to have sex.”
