Caleb Followill has become a father for the first time.

The Kings of Leon rocker's wife Lily Aldridge gave birth to their daughter on Thursday morning (21 June) at a Nashville hospital, a source told Us Weekly magazine.

According to E! News, the tot – named Dixie Pearl Followill – tipped the scales at 7 pounds, 11 ounces and measured up at 22 inches.

"Mom, Dad and baby are happy, healthy and enjoying their new addition," the couple's representative said in a statement.

Followill's bandmates were quick to weigh in on the new addition on Twitter.

The rocker's drummer brother Nathan tweeted: "I can now proudly proclaim my love 4 my gorgeous niece Dixie Pearl Followill. The prettiest baby girl I've ever seen. I love her so much".

Younger brother Jared wrote: "Thanks for all the congrats for the baby! I wasn't sure if it would be a boy or girl, but now I can proudly say, I'm an aunt!!! #BabyGirl".

The couple – who announced the Victoria's Secret model's pregnancy in December – tied the knot in California in May 2011, after dating for over two years.

Earlier this year, Followill told E! News that he had started picking out a soundtrack for the birth.

"We're trying to pick the music to make the birth go smoothly," he said. "I want the baby to come out rocking."
