Chris Brown received a gash on his chin after an alleged altercation with Drake's entourage at a New York nightclub.
The Turn Up the Music star – who was convicted of assaulting then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009 - was reportedly hit by a bottle when his associates clashed with the rapper's friends at the nightspot on Wednesday (13 June), in an altercation that left five people injured.
The New York Police Department arrived on the scene after receiving a call shortly after 4am – but neither Brown nor Drake were present when police turned up. No arrests were made.
Brown's publicist told E! News that the singer and his friends "were victims of a brutal attack last night at W.i.P.
"They sustained several injuries. Chris and his party are cooperating with NY authorities who are pursuing this incident further."
Brown and Drake have been involved in a long-running feud over Drake's friendship with Rihanna, and according to MTV.com the night's trouble started when the pair started "trash talking" each other.
E! News quoted a staff member as saying that Drake approached Brown outside the club before somebody threw a bottle at the Yeah X3 singer, with the star's security jumping in to protect him.
According to MTV, the two stars' entourages — made up of about 15 people each — began throwing glasses, bottles and metal ice containers at each other, with club-goers being caught in the crossfire.

However, Drake's representative has claimed that he wasn't involved in the brawl, telling E! News: "Drake did not participate in any wrongdoing of any kind last night at W.i.P. He was on his way out of the club when the altercation began.
"He did not engage in any activity which resulted in injury to person or damage to property."
Brown was reportedly treated in hospital following the brawl, before posting and a picture of his gashed chin to his 10 million twitter followers as part of a series of angry tweets, which were later removed.
Also injured in the altercation was a 24-year-old Australian tourist, who told TMZ.com that she needed 16 stitches after the singers' parties started throwing things at each other.
She told the gossip site: "Within a few moments of noticing glass being thrown around, I saw a glass bottle headed towards me; consequently hitting me in the head.
"I immediately started to bleed and proceeded to fall in and out of consciousness."
The tourist added that she took herself to a local hospital, where she was stitched up and given a tetanus shot. She has since filed a police report.
