Kris Humphries's legal team has contacted the FBI over claims that the sportsman’s former girlfriend Fatmire "Myla" Sinanaj tried to extort money from him.
According to TMZ.com, Humphries' lawyers got in touch with agents and provided recorded messages proving that Sinanaj had demanded a vast sum of money from the basketball star in return for her silence about her relationship with Humphries and his marriage to Kim Kardashian.
FBI officials have neither confirmed nor denied the claims.
Previous reports claimed that Humphries tried to convince Sinanaj to sign a confidentiality agreement, fearing that texts, e-mails and other documents about their relationship would be leaked to the media. However, TMZ reports that the pair could not reach common ground on his request.
Humphries' lawyers are currently demanding millions of dollars from his ex-wife Kardashian – who filed for divorce from Humphries after 72 days of marriage in October – claiming that the sportsman was blindsided by the split and had been defrauded by the union.
Humphries is seeking a divorce rather than an annulment, and Humphries fears that Sinanaj's evidence could hurt his case in court.
Humphries reportedly started dating Sinanaj (25) in January after meeting her at a well-known New York hotel.
