Jennifer Hudson can now start planning her wedding.
The Spotlight singer and her WWE wrestler fiancé David Otunga are able to move forward with their lives after her former brother-in-law William Balfour was found guilty of the 2008 murders of Hudson’s mother, brother and nephew.
Otunga said it’s a relief to finally be able to put that chapter behind them after Balfour's trial concluded last month.
David told People.com: "That was something that was hanging over our heads for so long, and now we feel like we can finally breathe a sigh of relief. Everything is good now."
Otunga (32) gushed about his wife-to-be Hudson (30), saying: "I'm blessed to have such a wonderful woman in my life who cares for our child so lovingly. It's made me love her just that much more."
However, 30-year-old Hudson downplayed her maternal nature, adding: "I care for my child like my mummy cared for me."
Their two-year-old son, David Jnr is in awe of his famous father’s profession and even has a cute moniker for the wrestling show.
He said: "I get home Tuesday, and he's already seen the show three times. He actually calls it 'WW-Dada.' And he never goes anywhere without my action figure."
While the couple is keeping mum on details of their big day, Otunga did reveal that Hudson's dress will be show-stopping.
He added: "My attire won't be quite the show that hers is."
