Hugh Hefner has reconciled with his former fiancée Crystal Harris.

The aspiring singer and model called off her wedding to the Playboy mogul just days before they were due to marry in last year, but sources claim that Harris "begged" the 86-year-old to forgive her and allow her to move back into the mansion.

A source told RadarOnline.com: "Crystal begged Hef to let her come back. He surprisingly doesn't have any hard feelings against her, so he let her move back into the mansion.

"Hef and Crystal are really happy back together."

The couple later confirmed the news by posting messages on their Twitter accounts.

Hefner posted: " Getting back together with Crystal Harris shouldn't be a big surprise, since I have a history of remaining close to former girlfriends", while Harris wrote: "Happy to be back home at the Playboy Mansion with @hughhefner and our puppy Charlie. I missed all the love and laughs."

While the source initially claimed that Hefner's current "number one girlfriend", Shera Berchard, had moved out as soon as Harris moved back in, Hefner insisted that she was merely visiting family in Canada.

Hefner tweeted: "Shera is in Canada visiting her family, which is unrelated to Crystal being here.

"Shera & my other Mansion girlfriends welcomed Crystal here at dinner on Tuesday night, before playing games together."

It is not yet known whether Harris and Hefner's wedding will be rescheduled – but the insider revealed that it could be on the cards.

Shortly after she called off the wedding, Harris explained that she knew a marriage to Hefner was not the right decision for either of them.

She said: "I got cold feet. Over time I just realised it wasn't for me, it was all happening so fast

"I actually spoke to Hef about it before I left and we both came to the decision that getting married wasn't the best for either of us."

Harris also publicly discussed their sex life, saying that their relationship was only physical "in the beginning".

"But after a while it just wasn't the most important thing to him," she said.

"There was couch cuddling, movie nights. Hef's like a big kid."
