Kim Kardashian's lawyer believes that Kris Humphries' "personal feelings" are delaying the couple's divorce.

Kardashian filed papers in October to end their marriage after just 72 days – and while Kardashian is aiming for a divorce, Humphries is seeking an annulment of their marriage.

Humphries' lawyers have also asked for more time to gather the information to decide whether to pursue allegations that the couple's marriage was a fraud, and was staged to boost ratings to their reality show Keeping Up With the Kardashians.

Kardshian's lawyer Laura Wasser has said that the couple are now eligible for a divorce because it has been more than six months since Kardashian filed her petition.

Speaking in court on Friday (4 May), Wasser said: "I feel that (Humphries') personal feelings and maybe some media drive is keeping this case alive.

"Certainly, they've been separated longer than they've been married."

The estranged couple are currently footing their own legal fees, but Wasser has warned that if the case goes to trial and Kardashian wins, she will ask Humphries to pay her hefty legal costs.

Superior Court Judge Stephen Moloney has told both sides to return to court on 15 August for a status hearing.
