Uma Thurman, who missed her high school prom, is still upset that she missed the traditional coming-of-age event.

The 'Pulp Fiction' actress wasn’t able to attend the event because she had to work.

"I never went to my prom. It was sad. I didn't go because I had started working when I was 16," she told US TV show Extra in an interview to promote her film 'The Life Before Her Eyes'.

The 'Kill Bill' star, who turns 38 next week, also revealed that the new movie left her "haunted". She plays a woman who must endure disturbing flashbacks after witnessing her best friend killed in a shooting at their high school.

"It was a wonderful film to make. It's haunting and it's moving. It is a very deep piece of material. It is such a real capturing of teen experiences," she said of the film in which she appears opposite Evan Rachel Wood.

"Hopefully it will help parents to sit down and have these difficult conversations with their children. The conversations could help open people up and provoke. It could be incredibly helpful."
