Miley Cyrus considered quitting show business after the controversy caused by her provocative photos.

Cyrus, the 15-year-old star of 'Hannah Montana' was photographed for Vanity Fair, wrapped in a bed sheet and showing her naked back, upsetting parents and family organisations in the US.

After the outcry Cyrus, who was forced to apologise for the pictures, came close to calling it a day claims her friend and co-star Anna Maria Perez De Tagle.

The daughter of country singer Billy Ray Cyrus has been going through a rough patch since then.

"Sometimes I'll talk to her on the phone and she'll be like: 'It's really hard' or 'I'm really tired. I can't do this.' "I'll always say: 'You do want to do this. You love your job.'

"It (photo scandal) really hurt her. She didn't know that people would look at it like that."
