According to a report by The Sun, Spears was distraught by pictures she saw of Timberlake and Diaz leaving a nightclub together, looking very much in love. According to friends, she was "hurt and annoyed". The report quotes a source: "Britney is upset about seeing Justin looking so close to Cameron. Jared was a shoulder to cry on, and he and Britney have known each other for a long while as friends.
"However, in recent weeks they have seen each other regularly and are growing closer. She really enjoys Jared's company but they were wary of the attention they would get considering who their old flames are."
Spears and Leto were pictured together for the first time, by The Sun, as they were enjoying a night out at Los Angeles restaurant, Dolce, which is owned by actress Demi Moore's hunky new boyfriend, Ashton Kutcher. The report claims that they left separately, but joined up again later in the evening at the 31st birthday party of fellow actor, Ben Affleck.
Since splitting with Timberlake, Spears has been linked to a number of male companions, including bad boys Colin Farrel and Fred Durst.
