Brittany Murphy's funeral will reportedly take place on Christmas Eve.

The 32-year-old actress died after suffering cardiac arrest at the Los Angeles home she shared with her husband, Simon Monjack, and mother, Sharon Murphy, on Sunday.

An autopsy has taken place, but the exact cause of her death will not be known until toxicology and other tests are carried out.

Although Brittany's family have not spoken about the funeral plans, gossip website Radar Online claims the service will be held tomorrow.

The site reports: "We can exclusively report that Brittany Murphy's funeral is to be held on Christmas Eve at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Hollywood Hills.

"The funeral service is listed as 'strictly private'."

Brittany was found collapsed in her bathroom by her mother. Paramedics were called and she was rushed to hospital, but was pronounced dead on arrival.

Simon has spoken of his devastation at losing his wife, and has refuted claims she died of a drugs overdose.

He said: "I can get rid of that one right now.

"And these rumours that she was anorexic? It's crazy ? she was slim, but that was her natural physique. This is what's killing all of us? How did it happen? Her mom, myself and her family ? we want to know why we lost our baby."
