Joost van der Westhuizen reportedly cheated on his wife, Amor Vittone, with former athlete Charmaine Weavers (Gale).

Weavers represented South Africa in high jump at the 1992 Olympic Games.

Van der Westhuzien has previously denied any relationship with Weavers, and said that the woman in the sex video was the first time he had ever cheated on Vittone.

Weavers says she is pleased that Van der Westhuizen has openly admitted that he was the man in the video.

"It's just such a pity that his confession was so selective, instead of rather confessing to everything," she told Beeld.

Weavers had previously told You/Huisgenoot — anonymously — that she had sex with Van Der Weshuizen while Vittone was pregnant.

When Beeld approached Van der Westhuizen about Weavers's claim, he said: "There were many sins and I did many wrong things. My plea for forgiveness in my book reaches wider than just the video; it includes my general past."

"From now on I just want to walk the straight and narrow (path) and do things right," he said.
