LeAnn Rimes and her husband, Dean Sheremet, have separated, according to media reports.

The country singer has been linked to actor Eddie Cibrian for the past four motnths.

"Le and Dean have been separated for quite some time now, but they're continuing to try and work through their relationship," a source told People magazine.

Brandi Glanville, Cibrian's wife, last week revealed that she and her husband were going their separate ways.

"Eddie is a devoted and loving father first and foremost and the speed bump he and Brandi are experiencing needs to be worked out privately for everyone's benefit," the 36-year-old TV actor's manager confirmed at the time.

Cibrian has denied he and Rimes are having an affair although speculation of a relationship has gradually been mounting since the two worked on TV film 'Northern Lights' last year.

People's source told the magazine in March that there were troubles in the Rimes marriage.

"There have been issues brewing for months prior to meeting Eddie on set."

Rimes married Sheremet in 2002 when she was 19 years old.
