Ricky Gervais has joked he will host the Golden Globe Awards "drunk".
The British comic star — who will be the first person to front the US ceremony solo since 1995 — insists he isn't going to stress about his preparations for the ceremony which is watched by millions.
He is quoted as saying: "I'm going to be drunk and I'm not going to rehearse so it's the perfect gig for me."
The 48-year-old actor has already spoken about how he can't wait to have "free reign" as presenter when he takes charge of proceedings.
The 'Invention of Lying' star said: "I have resisted many other offers like this, but there are just some things you don't turn down."
The 67th Annual Golden Globe Awards will take place at the Beverly Hills Hotel in Los Angeles on 17 January 2010.
