Mel Gibson, whose wife of 28 years filed for divorce, has been left in the cold by his children.

The 'Lethal Weapon' star's seven children are refusing to talk to him since they are enraged by the split.

"The children are totally furious about the collapse of their parents' marriage," a neighbour of Gibson claimed.

"None of them are talking to their dad right now. They are very upset."

The 'Passion of the Christ' director has been linked with several women since the breakup of his marriage to Robyn was announced. Most commonly mentioned is Oksana Grigorieva, a Russian singer who was previously the partner of ex 007 actor Timothy Dalton.

"This isn't the first time Mel has strayed, but this time Robyn just couldn't look the other way," a source claimed.

"Mel even set Oksana up in their own love nest in Sherman Oaks, California."

Grigorieva is signed to Gibson's Icon record label.

The 53-year-old Australian actor is a devout Catholic and reportedly so keen to get his marriage annulled he has consulted Vatican officials in an attempt to finalise the divorce quickly.

According to the divorce papers, Gibson and his wife have been separated since shortly after his controversial 2006 drunk driving arrest.
