Filming on the movie about Nelson Mandela and the 1995 Rugby World Cup is expected to wrap up in Johannesburg this weekend.
The untitled project, starring Morgan Freeman and Matt Damon, is directed by Clint Eastwood.
The film has been shooting at Ellis Park for the past few days. The stadium was the setting for the memorable moment when South Africa rose to victory in 1995.
Local actor Matt Stern, known for his roles in Sewende Laan and Binnelanders, is playing one of Madiba’s bodyguards.
"I still have to pinch myself every now and again. To work with people of that caliber doesn't come along everyday," he said.
He described working with Eastwood as a "godsend".
"He's got a huge team around him that knows exactly when and how he wants it. The whole movie is a fine-oiled machine," Stern added.
Filming moves back to Cape Town from Monday.
