Sylvester Stallone caused quite a stir in tinsel town last night when he made public the fact that he has chosen 50 Cent to replace Forest Whitaker in new movie 'The Expendables'.
Stallone chose to replace Whitaker with 50 Cent, real name Curtis Jackson, after the Oscar winning actor had no choice but to pull out of the film after the scheduling for it changed.
Despite the public seemingly being of the opinion that Jackson won't be able to fill the daunting shoes of 47-year-old Whitaker, Stallone stood his ground, insisting that he has not made this decision willy-nilly.
"The anger is understandable, but not fair," proclaimed Stallone, who will direct and also star in the movie.
“If a man can communicate in one medium, he can communicate in another.
"Trust me, the change of Forest Whitaker to Curtis is a good one."
In the film, Jackson will act alongside Mickey Rourke, Jason Statham, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Dolph Lundgren, with the story revolving around the journey of a group of mercenaries called 'The Expendables', who travel to South America in an effort to topple a corrupt dictator who has ruled for 20 devastating years, but their mission is not without problems.
Despite his career as a rapper, 50 Cent's portfolio does include some previous film credits, most notably his role as Spider alongside Robert De Niro and Al Pacino in 'Righteous Kill'.
