Hollywood heroes Mel Gibson and Danny Glover return to make the final 'Lethal Weapon' movie.

It has been a decade since Gibson, now 52, and Glover (62) last appeared as characters Martin Riggs and Roger Murtaugh, but scriptwriter for the first in the 'Lethal Weapon' series, Shane Black, has secretly been working on a new script, and the project has received the go-ahead from studio execs.

An industry insider revealed: "'Lethal Weapon' is a go. Mel and Danny are back. The script is fabulous."

In the new film, Murtaugh is in retirement but Riggs convinces him to come back for one last case.

The film is rumoured to return to the grittier style seen in the first film, though some say fans could be in for a shock twist.

In 1989, Black had a major disagreement with film bosses while making 'Lethal Weapon 2'. His aim was to kill off Gibson’s character, but he was stopped. Speculations are rife that he will get his chance in the final instalment.
