'Frasier' star Kelsey Grammer is in hospital for the second time in two months.

The actor was taken to a New York hospital on Monday morning by his wife Camille, his publicist Stan Rosenfield revealed.

The 53-year-old actor had been feeling faint and sought treatment as precaution, following a recent heart attack.

Grammer, who rose to fame in 'Cheers', was not in a life-threatening condition, the rep added, denying reports that the actor was suffering from an irregular heartbeat.

Although tests were still being performed, Rosenberg believed it was possible the symptoms were caused by Grammer's medication.

The sitcom star suffered a heart attack in late May while paddle-boarding in Hawaii. After four days of treatment, he was released on 4 June.

The heart attack came three weeks after his new show 'Back To You' was cancelled following one season on the air.

Grammer was thought to be in good health and was in New York promoting the US election comedy film 'Swing Vote' in which he stars alongside Kevin Costner.
