Amy Winehouse has been discharged from hospital after being rushed to a clinic last night due to a "reaction to medication".

The troubled 'Rehab' singer, who has long faced health concerns over her ongoing smoking and alleged drug use, spent the night in London's University College Hospital after an ambulance was called to her Camden home on Monday evening.

"Amy Winehouse suffered a reaction to medication at home this evening and was taken to the hospital," her representative Chris Goodman revealed.

"Doctors have advised that she will be kept under observation overnight and is likely to be released [on Tuesday]."

It is the second time in a month that the 24-year-old has been hospitalised. During her last stay of over 10 days she was treated for what her rep called a "chest infection" and her father Mitch described as emphysema. She had initially been hospitalised after fainting at her home.

In January Winehouse entered rehab to seek treatment for drug addiction.

Yesterday's collapse comes a week after Winehouse's husband Blake Fielder Civil was sentenced to 18 months in prison for assault and obstructing the course of justice.

Last night the singer was wheeled out of her home receiving oxygen and wrapped in a blanket, according to witnesses.

"We were called at approximately 8.40pm to an address in NW1 to reports of an adult female taken unwell," a spokesperson for London Ambulance Service told the BBC.

"We sent an ambulance and a fast response car and the patient has been taken to hospital."

Police were called in to help the ambulance at about 9pm after it was surrounded by paparazzi.

"We were asked to assist in the London Ambulance Service leaving the vicinity where a crowd of photographers had gathered," a Scotland Yard spokesperson revealed.
