Katy Perry finally spoke out about her feud with fellow singer Taylor Swift.
Perry appeared with TV personality James Corden on his popular Carpool Karaoke segment and explained how their well-publicised bad blood materialised.
After singing Perry's latest song, Swish Swish – which is rumoured to be about Swift – Corden asked the songstress about the feud – and Perry finally opened up about a quarrel that has been making waves on the Internet since 2015.
"Honestly, it's really like she started it, and it's time for her to finish it," Perry tells Corden in the segment.
Perry revealed to Corden her side of the story which involved backing dancers.
Perry explained: "So there are three backing dancers that went on tour with her [Taylor Swift] tour, right? And they asked me before they went on tour if they could go, and I was like, 'Yeah, of course. I’m not on a record cycle and get the work, and she’s great and all that. But I will be on a record cycle in about a year, so be sure to put a 30-day contingency in your contract so you can get out if you want to join me when I say I’m going back on.'"
Perry says that when the day came, the dancers spoke to Swifts' management who then fired them. Perry adds that she did try to talk to Swift about it, but the latter wasn't having any of it.
"I tried to talk to her about it, and she wouldn’t speak to me," Perry says. "It was a full shutdown and then she writes a song about me, and I’m like, OK, cool, cool, cool, that’s how you want to deal with it? Karma!"
Perry chats about the feud at the 9:25 minute mark of the video which you can watch below…
