Danny K, HHP, Roger Goode, Jamali, Rudimentals and Watershed are to rock the CTICC.
The Cape Town International Convention Centre turns five and to celebrate top hip-hop, rock, classical, jazz and house acts are performing on five different stages at the bash on Saturday 28 June.
Danny K will be the headlining act on the main stage. He?ll be preceded by top local hip hop talent HHP and Jamali, with Watershed and the Afro-Ska band, The Rudimentals, getting the crowd warmed up and into party mode.
The Jazz stage will feature winner of Best Male Artist and Best Jazz Album at the 2006 SAMA awards, Jimmy Dludlu who has won international acclaim for his album 'Echoes'. He?ll be backed up by local jazz favourite Judith Sephuma who won Best Female Artist in 2002 and Metro FM Award for Best Jazz Artist in 2006.
For classical fans, producers Mike Campbell and Gillian Lindner promise a feast of music. Five acclaimed pianists on five grand pianos will perform at once ? a first for a Cape Town stage ? as a grand finale to the classical show. The Cape Town Trio on violin, cello and piano, who will be touring Russia later this year, will be opening the classical show, along with up and coming soprano diva Zandile Gwebitalwe. Young soprano Pretty Yende will also perform two popular classical arias, and end with the comic song, 'I Want to be a Prima Donna'.
An after-party will kick off at the house music stage after 10.30pm with Iridium Project and DJs Craig De Souza, Ready D, Roger Goode and Tyrone Paulsen.
Tickets for the bash at CTICC on 28 June are on sale through Computicket for R100 or, for those who also want classical, R110. On all tickets R50 is redeemable for food and drink at the event.
The CTICC will donate the proceeds of ticket sales from this all-night party extravaganza to local charities CAFDA, Nazareth House, Homes for Kids in South Africa, Doornbacht Community Centre, Eziko Cooking and Catering Training Centre, SPCA, The Farouk Abrahams Goalkeeper Academy and the League of Friends of the Blind.
