SA's rock giants are all set to join forces for the Rock on Summer Concert in Durban on Friday, 11 December 2009, hosted by Suncoast Casino & Entertainment World in partnership with Boudoir Live Productions and EntertainmentAfrica.com.

South Africa's premier rock band Prime Circle will headline the bill, having dominated the rock scene in South Africa for close on a decade.

The band have always been known for igniting stages with its full-throttle rock sounds, and with supporting acts Cassette, Stealing Love Jones and The Otherwise, Prime Circle will remain true to their reputation when they take centre stage at Rock on Summer.

After nine years and three progressively strong albums behind them, band members Ross Learmonth (lead vocals and guitar), Dale Schnettler (drums), Dirk Bisschoff (lead guitar), Neil Breytenbach (keyboards) and Marco Gomes (bass), attribute their success to an ever-growing and genuinely fanatical South African base.

In June 2008 they released their third and EMI debut album titled 'All or Nothing' and have since gone on to enjoy platinum sales and a jam-packed international tour roster.

Produced by Cape Town-based Theo Crous, 'All or Nothing' includes a barrage of radio hits and chart-toppers like 'Consider Me', 'She Always Gets What She Wants', 'What I've Become', 'All I Need' and the album closer 'Tear It Down'.

The Rock on Summer Concert also marks the first tour to South Africa of Stealing Love Jones' lead vocalist "Miss Jones" (aka Esjay) since her relocation to the US earlier this year to conquer the American market.

Still performing under the Stealing Love Jones moniker, Esjay and her new American band have attracted a strong following across the pond. They will be returning to South Africa once or twice a year to reconnect with fans in the country.

Cassette, recently signed to EMI, had six major hits in South Africa from their first album including 'Tracy', 'Beautiful Smile', 'Sometimes' and 'AI', as well as an unplanned hit with a leaked B-side cover of Boomtown Rats hit, 'I Don't Like Mondays', from their first album.

Their new album, 'Who Do You Trust', features the hit singles 'Who Do You Trust', 'Break My Heart' and 'Save This City', all of which are currently enjoying extensive airplay and popularity.

Known for their outrageous live performances and entertainment appeal, Cassette have made headlines in South with antics including a protest against Zimbabwean dictator, Robert Mugabe, during their headline slot at Oppikoppi Festival, and a Guns N' Roses spoof after the band had cancelled their SA tour for the third time.

They've collaborated with local legends such as the Mahotella Queens, Zubz and Vusi Mahlasela and shared stages with international artists including Pink, Evanescence, Snow Patrol, Panic At The Disco, Eagle Eye Cherry, Blof and more.

Opening act for the Rock on Summer Concert, The Otherwise, are a four-piece band from Durban, well-known for their original blend of indie and disco punk. Their sound is "dirty guitars over clean, crisp disco beats" and the tunes are catchy with a positive message.

Lead singer Greg Allan is backed by guitarist Harry Allan, drummer Chris Van Renen and bassist Caitlin "London" Kerr. They've carved out a name for themselves performing at indie venues and festivals across the country and are currently recording their debut album which will be released early 2010.
