Rocking the Daisies is upon us once again and 2008's edition offers 26 local and international live acts as well as 22 DJs spread over three days. And, on top of that, there's the Comedy Revolution.
The main stage features US singer Eagle Eye Cherry alongside top local bands like Goldfish, Plush, Bed on Bricks, aKING, Dirty Skirts, Taxi Violence, and Farryl Purkiss.
The Electronic Tent plays host to the likes of Bruno Morphet & Matt Carpark, DJ China, DJ Lapse, Fletcher and Honey B, while the laughs come courtesy of comics such as Martin Evans, Brendan Murray and Paul Snodgrass.
It all plays out on the weekend of 3 to 5 October at the Cloof Wine Estate in Darling, less than an hour from Cape Town by car. But because this is a green festival, Rocking the Daisies will be hosting a cycle to the festival from Cape Town. All cyclists tickets are half price and include a complimentary glass of Cloof Estate wine.
And staying with the environmental awareness, in an effort to reduce the fest's carbon emissions a R20 parking fee will be charged to all vehicles carrying less than three persons. This fee will go towards the planting of trees to offset the festival's carbon footprint.
