Levi's Young Guns 2008 opens the stage for new talent in Durban.
There are some bands that play really good and distinct music, in addition to having exceptional fun while doing it. These are the musicians that make it onto the Levi's Young Guns stage, allowing up and coming artists the chance to play their heart out on stage in a cool venue.
In September there are two groundbreaking acts playing at the Bellhaven Memorial Hall in Durban. It's time for Siyamatic and Fire Through The Window to step up and impress with their own unique brand straight-from-the-soul tunes. Come feel their fire.
First up on the night is Siyabonga Buthelezi, known on stage as Siyamatic, a young star with a classical background who's been loving and living music his entire life. This Durban-born son is a self-taught guitarist with a voice that reminds you of all the good things in life. He's been collaborating and gigging his heart out, touching audiences around the country with his indefinably infectious music.
Following on is Fire Through The Window, an outfit whose quirky outlook has seen them enjoying a rise to fame in the last year. They've got the formula right, balancing dreamy, romantic lyrics and sweet melodies with pop accessibility and ska-infected punk. Their live show is all potent energy and upfront honesty, using two lead singers to get a very catchy message across.
