Waters, with the band's drummer Nick Mason a committed motor racing fan will perform the British group's mythic 1970s album 'Dark Side of the Moon' on July 14, Bastille Day.
"Nick's going to be my co-driver," said Waters at the unveiling of the plans for the race's birthday celebrations on Monday.
Traditionally held at the start of July this year's edition has been moved to July 16 to avoid clashing with the World Cup finals in Germany which winds up on July 9.
July 14, France's premier public holiday, is an appropriate date for the concert given that Waters has written an opera about the French Revolution.
"I'd planned to take this summer off until they approached me about Magny Cours and July 14 which makes a lot of appeal to me!"
