Following the success of his SAMA-winning, platinum-selling debut album, Elvis Blue returns with 'Journey' on 13 July.
The 15 months since Blue burst onto the scene in 2011, when he won the sixth season of Idols, have been quite a journey — hence the title of his second album.
"I decided to call the album Journey, because the songs on the album were born out of the experiences I have had over the last 15 months. It has been a great journey — and my hope is that the people who support me will enjoy these songs and relate to the stories on the album," Blue said.
Since the release of his first album, simply titled Elvis Blue, he has accomplished what few other artists in this country have been able to do. The album went gold just 29 days after its release, and continued selling up a storm. Its sales officially crossed the platinum mark in November 2011.
Blue has also shared the stage with international acts such as Westlife, UB40 and James Blunt. He was named an official global ambassador of the 46664 Bangle Initiative alongside superstars like Clint Eastwood and Morgan Freeman, and he won the SAMA for Best Adult Contemporary Album in April of this year.
On top of that, he has performed over 200 shows across the country, continuing to take his music to his fans.
Now, with the release of Journey, Elvis Blue is gearing up to start the next phase of what has already been an epic rite of passage.
