US Grammy entrant and SAMA award nominee, Cofield Mundi, has signed a license deal with international major label, SonyBMG.
The Cape Town based singer songwriter, who recently completed the recording of her sophomore album 'The Big Question', inked the deal with Director of Marketing and A&R, Dave Thompson, on a recent visit to Johannesburg.
Cofield`s debut album 'Ceremony', released in 2003, produced four Top 10 singles including 'Count me out', 'River' and 'Give it up'.
Career highlights to date include opening for Queen and Annie Lennox at the 46664 Concert in George, her sell-out Kirstenbosch Summer Concert and her performance at the prestigious CMJ Music Marathon in New York.
'The Big Question' has been three years in the making and along with Cofield as executive producer, the album features contributions from three of the leading producers in the country: Brian O'Shea, Marius Brouwer and Cedric Sampson.
The first single, 'Head over heels' has already hit radio, ahead of the album's release date on 25 June — which will coincide with a string of live dates.
