Two of the hottest hip hop artists, Akon and Fat Joe, are heading to South Africa for the Urban Music Festival in Johannesburg and Cape Town in April.

The tour kicks off on 11 April 2008 at the Coca-Cola Dome and heads down to the Mother City on 12 April 2008 for a showdown at the Good Hope Centre.

Also on the bill is Black Violin. This American duo has a creative sound that has seen them perform with some of the best in the business including Alicia Keys at the Billboard Awards and P Diddy at the NFL kick off party.

The local names on the bill include Mzansi’s best with Jozi and Danny K confirmed for Johannesburg. The Joburg line up also boasts female talent with Leeanne and Lungi taking to the stage.

Cape Town fans can catch Loyiso and Ready D.

The Urban Music Festival, which is being billed as an annual urban musical franchise, is presented by Centre Stage Management (CSM) in association with MTV Base and 5FM.
