Micarelli's debut album, Music from a Farther Room, has just been released locally, and the classically trained violinist is expected to receive a warm response from local audiences.
She is grounded in everything from jazz combos to orchestral rock, and has already earned a large and loyal following as the lead violinist and concert master in Josh Groban?s touring ensemble. Throughout his world tour, the young musician has been receiving standing ovations and wide acclaim.
The New York born, Hawaii-raised artist has incredible range and eclecticism, stemming from her being a dedicated student of violin from the age of three, making her orchestral debut with the Honolulu Symphony at the age of six, and attending the famed Julliard School of Music.
She has racked up an impressive resume, including a televised performance with the Disney Young Musicians Symphony Orchestra, various solo and chamber music appearances at concert halls throughout the United States, and more than a dozen international competition prizes by the time she was seventeen.
After touring extensively with the famed Trans-Siberian Orchestra throughout the 2003 holiday season as the group?s concertmaster and soloist, Josh Groban invited her to join his live band, accompanying him on several songs as well as a solo spot in his show.
Proudly presented by Nedbank in association with MTN, SABC 2, Jacaranda 94.2 and Kfm 94.5, Josh Groban will be kicking off his tour at the Sun City Superbowl on the 27th of November, before moving to the Dome Johannesburg on the 28th, and then heading down to the majestic Kirstenbosch Gardens in Cape Town for performances on the 1st, 3rd, and 4th of December 2004.
Got something to say?
