The Parlotones have hooked up with KFC — to promote a new chicken snack box, and create the most ambitious music video ever produced in South Africa.
Directed by maverick director Erik van Wyk, the video utilises a technique that has never been used before. The behind the scenes footage filmed over the three shoot days will form the basis of the forthcoming TV commercials promoting The Parlotones Snack Box.
The video itself will carry no branding which is a very bold move by KFC who are footing the bill for this groundbreaking production. The video will be launched on 11 December.
The campaign will then switch focus from promoting the launch of the video to promoting The Parlotones Snack Box and the range of KFC Snacks utilising the behind the scenes footage on TV commercials, radio, outdoor, print and digital.
The KFC stores will also be utilised as a touch point to emphasise the relationship with The Parlotones and the birth of the KFC Snacking positioning.
In an ever-changing business environment this campaign is the latest by The Parlotones who recently teamed up with Sony Ericsson for the digital release of their new 'Stardust Galaxies' album.
