Flat Stanley are set to hit Europe after signing a multi-territory album licensing deal with German based record label iMusic Records.

It all started with a chance encounter with a German tourist at an unplugged Levi's Vintage Sunday show at the Green Dolphin in 2007. He liked what he heard and eighteen months later Flat Stanley signed the deal with iMusic.

It means they will release their SAMA-nominated second album 'Between 2wo Worlds' (with two bonus tracks from the first album 'Of Secrets and Wine') in Europe in early 2009. The album will initially be released in Germany, Austria and Switzerland with a staggered rollout into the rest of the European Union and Russia over the following nine months.

The first single and music video released to German radio and TV will be 'As I Am' and the band fly to Frankfurt for the first time at the end of November for a week long promo trip.

But the international exposure has also demanded a name change. Due to legal concerns around the name Flat Stanley being the same as that of a range of American children's books, they're changing it to Macstanley.

"This really is a dream deal for Flat Stanley and the perfect way for us to be finishing off an awesome year," enthuses lead vocalist Andy Mac. "We've been careful about exploring opportunities abroad, but the absolute faith that iMusic Records have shown in 'Between 2woWorlds' fills us with confidence that we are working with the right team!"
