Having started work on her third album some three years ago, British singer Dido has finally finished it up, including a song for her dad who passed away.
The blonde singer's father, William, suffered from chronic autoimmune disease lupus and passed away in 2006.
Dido revealed: "Him dying was huge.
"I was so close to him. I got to be with him and I was glad about that."
Dido furthermore explained that her dad heard some of the progress she'd made on new album 'Safe Trip Home', but that he wasn't around to hear the final product.
"He was around to hear some of it. It's gutting I can’t play him the whole album," she divulged.
There is, however, a song on the album dedicated to William called 'Grafton Street', which is a street in Dublin that is made reference to in the traditional Irish song called 'On Raglan Road'. Dido sang 'On Raglan Road' to her father on his deathbed.
'Safe Trip Home' is set for release in November.
