Pete Doherty is apparently on the verge of finishing his first solo album.

And the drug addled musician has also somehow managed to get reclusive, media shy Lee Mavers of Liverpudlian group The La's to feature on the album.

The 29-year-old's solo endeavour is apparently quite a far cry from the indie sound of his other bands, The Libertines and Babyshambles, with it being rumoured that it has a strong electronic feel.

A source explained: "Pete has really pushed the boat out on this record.

"Parts of it sound like Gorillaz. He's been experimenting wildly with loads of unconventional techniques."
