After a decision was finally made about who should be given the esteemed opportunity of writing and performing the theme tune for new James Bond movie 'Quantum Of Solace', controversy has now been caused with composer Jack White upset about the fact that the song will be used in an advert for Coke Zero.

Throughout the process of picking musicians to write an accompanying song for the new, 22nd movie in the Bond franchise, various rumoured names — including Leona Lewis and Duffy — were mentioned. When it seemed like a choice was eventually made, Amy Winehouse headed to the studio to create the song with the help of producer Mark Ronson, but he eventually pulled out because the singer's battle with drug addiction was seemingly hindering the process

Said Ronson following their effort: "We did work on it but we never finished it. I don't think it will happen unless by some miracle it gets recorded and someone sings on it. I'm not sure Amy is ready to work on music yet."

It was then subsequently decided that Jack White and Alicia Keys would be recording the song. However, White has now seemingly become disillusioned with the movie's marketing agreement with Coca Cola, who have re-branded their new diet cool drink Coke Zero Zero 7 for the collaborative advertising campaign.

The song by Keys and White is being used in an advert for the soft drink, leaving the White Stripes guitarist less than impressed, and he has so chosen to make public his disapproval of this move made by movie bosses

White's management explained in a statement: "Jack White was commissioned by Sony Pictures to write a theme song for the James Bond film 'Quantum Of Solace'.

"Any other use of the song is based on decisions made my others, not by Jack White.

"We are disappointed that you first heard the song in a co-promotion for Coke Zero, rather than in its entirety."

'Quantum Of Solace' is set to be released in South Africa on 21 November.
