Van Coke Kartel members Francois van Coke, Wynand Myburgh and Justin Kruger will be back in studio from 28 July to 23 August to record their new full length album, due for release in October.
The album will be recorded at BSharp Studios in Boksburg and to prevent cabin fever from setting in, the trio are hitting live venues in the area.
Van Coke Kartel is also planning a nationwide tour in October to introduce the new album.
Their self titled debut album, released in November 2007, was nominated for a SAMA Award 2008 in the category Best Afrikaans Rock Album. Its follow-up will have a few surprises: Van Coke Kartel is also planning to add a few more melodic songs and even a ballad or two to the album, while Myburgh will be playing an upright bass on eight of the 10 new tracks.
