Flo Rida scores 2.5/5

The Flo Rida (pronounced "flow rider") has delivered the 'Mail On Sunday', ladies and gentleman. Unfortunately for him, he's just one of many in the rap genre, already overpopulated by muscle-buffed and spotlight-hogging males.

Tough to stand out from that crowd but he's doing just that by having undoubtedly the hottest song in the scene right now: 'Low' featuring the most sought-after collaborator T-Pain. 'Elevator' looks set to continue that popularity in clubs and on the radio, as the rapper teams up with equally in-demand Timbaland.

And the collaborations just keep on coming. Even Sean Kingston shows up with the Jamaican-born singer added his vocals to 'Roll', one of two tracks ('Ms Hangover' is the other) produced by South Africa's own JR Rotem.

The local boy is in good company when it comes to keeping the producer's chair warm — apart from Timbaland, Will.I.Am shows up to twiddle some knobs on 'In The Ayer'.

Despite the credentials of his co-workers, the focus is always on the rapper. 'All My Life' is another song that could be a hit, while 'Ack Like You Know' reveals why he's called the Flo Rida.

This playa does have a softer side though, getting somewhat romantic on 'Freaky Deaky' (featuring Trey Songz) and paying homage to the legendary synthetic king Roger Troutman of Roger and Zapp in 'Me and U', which contains elements of the group's 'Emotions'.

But despite the big songs, the big collaborators, and the big vocal delivery, Flo Rida isn't delivering anything new. 'Mail on Sunday' sounds like old news.
