Vanessa Williams scores 4/5

One of the best songs in this collection is 'Lazy Afternoon' and it’s a spot-on scene-setter for the warm, laid-back mood that flows throughout this latest collection of latino-jazz love songs by Vanesa Williams.

Her songs are warm, sensual, sultry and it flows and stirs like a warm sea breeze at sunset.

The quality of her voice is absolutely outstanding, perhaps nowhere more striking than in the way she adds a whole new dimension to Stevie Wonder’s 'The Real Thing'.

What also brings platinum quality to this album is the stylish class and variety of the musicians assembled for this recording, playing anything from trombone, sax and harp to violins, celli and percussion.

The guitar work throughout all her songs is awesome, particularly when Dean Park strokes the classical and acoustic guitar.

He sets a beautiful mood right from the opening bars of the first song, Breathless and reaches really spectacular heights in Lazy Afternoon.

There are 11 songs in this collection, all of them like long kisses. I can think of no better music to set the scene for an intimate evening of candlelight and champagne.
